AN ODE TO A ROCK

There are times people hate you
For making their paths difficult to travel along
People sometimes think of cursing you
Kicking you to where you should belong

Seasons may change yet standing still
Though you seem to be in complete disarray
Overcoming the life that might against your will
“How mighty you are!” I could say.

                        -ODE-

The word ‘ode’ comes from the Greek word aeidein (“to sing”), and an ode is a song, a lyric poem, most often one that addresses a thing or person not present.
