BUSY REALITY (Prose poem)

Imprisoned in a busy life, a busy city, a busy country, a busy world. People are starting not to care on what they see before their eyes. They seem to have no time to express gratitude to the Master,
the creator of all great things. How fortunate and blessed are we that He keeps on shedding His unconditional love to the thirsty souls of the youth, though sometimes He has nothing to receive in return.

                               -PROSE-

Prose poem is a cross between prose and poetry. It looks like a prose but it reads like poetry without rhyme or set of rhythm. Prose poems tend to be short.

AN ODE TO A ROCK

There are times people hate you
For making their paths difficult to travel along
People sometimes think of cursing you
Kicking you to where you should belong

Seasons may change yet standing still
Though you seem to be in complete disarray
Overcoming the life that might against your will
“How mighty you are!” I could say.

                        -ODE-

The word ‘ode’ comes from the Greek word aeidein (“to sing”), and an ode is a song, a lyric poem, most often one that addresses a thing or person not present.

IKAW ANG GIPITIK NG AKING PUSO (Macaronic Verse)

Sukad nalantawan and iyong maamong mukha

                             -MACARONIC VERSE-

(Macaronic Verse is a mixture of two or more languages in a poem. In this poem, I combined Visayan and Tagalog.

KAPAG WALANG SIGNAL (Tagalog Collaboration Poem)

Kay lalim na ng gabi
Ngunit wala ka sa aking tabi
Ako'y naghihintay sa tawag mo
Nakalimutan mo na ba ako?

O giliw, ano bang nangyari?
Tila puso'y di mapakali
Sadya bang pinaglalaruan ng tadhana,
Ang signal na napakahina?

Kapag walang signal, tayo ay nag-aaway
Ngunit tayo'y walang kamalay-malay
Galit at puot ang naghahari
Di ko na kayang magkunwari

Parang may giyera na nagaganap,
Kapag ikaw ay di mahanap
"O signal, kami sana'y pagbigyan
Away, huwag sanang hayaan"

Isang signal ako'y biglang napangiti
Para bang may kumikiliti
Ngunit ito'y biglang nawala
Kaya ang puso ko'y unting napaluha

Napagtanto ko bigla,
At ako'y napatulala
"Pagkat ikaw pa rin habang buhay,
Kahit ang signal pa'y mamatay!

PAPER EVENT POEM

1.       Cut the paper into tiny pieces, put it in a flower basket and use is as flower petals on your wedding day.
2.       Crumple a piece of paper and paint it with black. Now it’s like a stone!
3.       Make holes on the paper and you have yourself a strainer.
4.       Roll a piece of paper and now you have a trumpet.
5.       Crumple pieces of paper, paste a thread on top of it. A perfect hanging décor for your Christmas tree!
-EVENT-

(An Event poem could be seen as the written equivalent of a Happening. To create an Event Poem, select an object and find new imaginative (sometimes slightly crazy) uses for it. Number these and write them down, each below the other, beginning each sentence with an action verb.
